Best Toaster Kettle Set 2019 – Buyer’s Guide

Two of the most essential small kitchen appliances in your home. When breakfast and lunch hit, the kettle is on for a cup of tea or coffee, and there is bread/crumpets/muffins/bagel in the toaster.

But if you are particular about design as well as functionality, then you are going to want both appliances to match. While most toasters will have a matching kettle available, hunting for it can be a pain.

Then there is the price of buying both separately. And the trouble caused if you’ve found the perfect colour for the kettle, but can’t find the matching colour of the toaster anywhere.

So purchasing a bundle makes a lot of sense – not only do you know they are going to be the perfect match, but sets are often available for a lower cost than buying separately, too.

Here are our favourite toaster and kettle sets, available to purchase together to give you a lot less hassle. They don’t just look good, as we have ensured they are also up to the task.

Best Kettle & Toaster Bundles

Russell Hobbs Inspire Electric Kettle and 4 Slice Toaster

If the style is absolutely paramount when you’re purchasing your new kettle and toaster set, then look no further than this bundle from Russell Hobbs.

Available in a few different colours, such as grey, red, black and cream, there won’t only be a shade to match the other hues in your kitchen, but the modern design and finish is also perfect if you’re after the brand new look.

It isn’t just a trendy set, though. From a practical point of view, the four toaster slots are wide to accommodate most bread types, and the kettle can boil a cup of water in under 45 seconds, making it 66% more economical than a lot of others on the market.

The toaster also has frozen, cancel and reheat settings, so you’re covered if you use your bread from frozen or if you forget about it and need it to be warmed again. There is also a handy Lift & Look feature, which allows you to peek at the browning progress without stopping the cycle.

Final Verdict

One of the best-selling toasters and kettles from Russell Hobbs, and being able to save some money when buying them both together is the perfect accompaniment to brightening up your kitchen

Dualit Studio 1.5L Kettle and 2-Slice Toaster

This is a set which has been revamped in order to match, yet the combination is subtle, which is perfect if you want the modern yet stylish look.

The toaster has the addition of the stainless steel side plate to accompany the kettle’s metallic trim. Then the micro-dot pattern adds a touch of something different while always looking clean. If the time does come when it needs a polish, this is easy to achieve with the texture – it isn’t going to look streaky and full of fingerprints.

On to the actual performance of the two appliances. There’s the reheat and defrost buttons for the toaster, as well as nice wide slots for those who like their thick-cut bread. Nine levels of browning control should also ensure you get the precise level of done you want.

The kettle can hold 1.5L of water and is on a 360 degrees swivel base, with cordless operation so you’re free to move about and pop your tea station where you wish. A measuring window displays both cup and litre information, and a no-drip spout will prevent accidents and mess.

It is one of the more attractive toaster kettle sets, in our opinion. The black and silver will suit pretty much any kitchen, and you aren’t going to be stuck with a dated looking appliances after just a few years if you want to make an investment.

Final Verdict

They have the style, the practicality and the easy aftercare. A winner and not a bad price for the name and quality

Salter COMBO-3647 Metallics Polaris Jug Kettle and 4-Slice Toaster Set

One for those of you who like colour more than the usual black/steel looks. Available in titanium, pearl blue and champagne, this is a colourful and practical set which will make any kitchen pop.

The kettle contains a 3000W fast-boil element which allows for a quicker cuppa when you’re parched, and it will hold 1.7L of water at any one time. Ideal if you flick the kettle on and the whole household exclaims they’ll have one too.

The 1500W 4-slice toaster has six browning settings so there will be a precise one for whichever level you like on the browning scale. The slots are nice and wide too, so if you’re more of a sourdough or crumpet person than a standard bread, you won’t have to cram it in.

Colour-wise, the finish is silky rather than shiny, so not only does this mean it will look cleaner for longer, but it also makes it a bit bolder. In the Salter Metallics collection is also Pans & Ovenware, Bread Bins & Kitchen Storage, Blenders, Choppers & Hand Mixers and Food Preparation Tools & Chopping Boards, so you can go as bold or subdued as you wish in your decor.

We like

Final Verdict

A good price for two products which are both stylish and work very well, both together and as individual items

Swan STP2091GRYN Nordic Kitchen Bundle

We can imagine that the style of this set is a bit Marmite-y. You’ll either think it is one of the most brilliant designs and colours you’ve ever seen, or you’ll think there is no way you’d put it anywhere near your kitchen.

We are in the former group – and we know there will be some people out there who adore the look too. It won’t suit every kitchen, but if you’re going for a bright, slightly minimalistic look then we think it has fantastic potential.

It is inspired by Scandinavian furniture. The soft wooden textures and neutral colours of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland come together really nicely, and the buttons and sliders are easy to use without getting in the way of the design.

Defrost/Reheat/Cancel functions on the toaster give you the basics you need, and there are six browning levels. The kettle pours really nicely, and the wooden handle is smooth so it is comfortable to hold.

We will say that despite the toaster being a normal size, it only toasts very small pieces of bread, so there’s a good chance you’d have to turn the slice around to brown each half. Not the end of the world, though.

It is also available in a set with the microwave if you want this to match, too. And the colour choice is pretty phenomenal, especially if you’re a fan of pastels. Cream is our favourite, but shop around for others too if you want something bolder than grey/cream.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Kettle 22 x 16 x 25.5cm, Toaster 33 x 29 x 20.1cm
  • Toaster Type: 4 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Unique Scandi style
  • Comfortable to use
  • More matching items available

We dislike

  • Toaster slots are small

Final Verdict

While the toaster can be slightly annoying to use, the kettle is brilliant and it is the style which will appeal most to a lot of people anyway

Cooks Professional Electric Kettle & Toaster Set

Not only is this bundle almost half of the price of a lot of the others we have featured on this rundown, but it is also a really nice design if you’re one for copper accents.

And it doesn’t hold back on the colour – a broad splash either side of the toaster and the base of the kettle will ensure guests know you mean business. There is also a stainless steel body, so you have a very modern touch too.

The buttons on the toaster are easy to see and operate, and there is a cancel, reheat or defrost option. You also get six browning levels, so there will be the opportunity to get your toast exact. As for the kettle, the cup measurements will help you to only boil the water you need, it will hold 1.75L at once and there is a really comfortable handle for easy pouring.

Each individual item is also available in either cream or black, but you’ll have to purchase separately. The kettle is a little louder than others when boiling and the lid is on/off rather than hinged so can be hard to remove and fully replace.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Kettle 25 x 15.5 x 26.5cm, Toaster 34.5 x 26.5 x 20cm
  • Toaster Type: 4 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Price
  • Nice stylish design

We dislike

  • Kettle can be difficult to use

Final Verdict

While more expensive sets are a little smoother to use, the price saving is great if these things don’t bother you - plus it looks more expensive than it is

Breville Strata Kettle 4 Slice Toaster, Grey Bundle

A stunning set with a matte grey finish and shiny steel combination.

It gives that perfect balance of modernity with a slightly retro feel thanks to the shape. Both items are also packed with features, from the toaster’s lift and peek function to the specially designed spout of the kettle to help with pouring.

One particular thing we loved about the toaster which we haven’t actually seen with a lot of other models is the variable width slots. On the right hand side, you have extra wide slots which are ideal for thicker cut bread, crumpets, muffins and bagels which usually get jammed otherwise.

But on the left is ordinary width slots, so your ordinary Hovis loaf will still get the care and attention it needs without having too much room. Both sides have defrost, re-heat and mid-cycle cancel functions.

As for the kettle, it is 1.7L, and the side water window makes for an easy refill – you can ensure you never boil more or less than you need.

This bundle comes in grey, but if you’d prefer mint green or white, the individual items are available to buy separately.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Kettle 25.9 x 16.9 x 23.2cm, Toaster 20 x 32 x 27.5cm
  • Toaster Type: 4 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Lovely elegant design
  • Matte finish
  • Easy to use controls

We dislike

  • Toaster isn’t tall enough for larger pieces of bread

Final Verdict

A glorious design and finish, and both products do the job very well too

Morphy Richards 220022 Dimensions

We have reviewed the Dimensions set separately before and loved both products, but if you have your eye on the matching pair then this bundle could save you enough money to buy a few extra bits as well.

Available in black, white or cream, it is a collection for those who have a colour theme but want to keep things more on the basic side. It is also perfect for those who want to avoid a majority stainless steel finish and would rather have the colour.

The 1.5L kettle capacity can make six cups of water at any one time, which is ideal for an office or busy home. It has a 3kW boiling element, so you won’t be waiting for ages to get the job done either.

As for the toaster, there is a defrost option as well as a handy reheat function for those who forget about things when they get distracted. After all, you want the butter to melt on the toast, right?

The buttons are clear to read and press, and six heat settings will get the right level of brown which your heart and stomach desires.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Kettle 20 x 16 x 24cm, Toaster 25 x 22 x 18.5cm
  • Toaster Type: 2 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Colour options
  • Clear buttons and levers
  • Flip lid on kettle is easy to use

We dislike

  • The wide slots don’t toast thinner bread very well in one go

Final Verdict

A perfect match, and two items which really work well to make a perfect cup of tea and toast

Swan STP3050WN Symphony Kettle and 2 Slice Toaster Bundle

Want something which isn’t smooth and sleek? The Symphony collection by Swan is ideal.

Contemporary in style, the textured surface adds something a little different. And is also easier to keep clean, which is great for those busy kitchens. This is applicable to both the white and black colours.

The kettle has a 1.7 litre capacity, as well as a 360 degree rotational base. There is also a removable filter, and the switch will illuminate when the kettle is on for safety.

As for the toaster, it is faultless. Does everything it should from toasting to perfection and accommodating various kinds of baked goods, and is simple to use with comfortable controls and clear navigation.

The only real niggle we can think of is that the water level window is behind the handle which can make it hard to see. But this does mean that the kettle has a clean design, so it all depends whether you’re happy with this.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Toaster 25 x 22 x 18.5cm, Kettle 23 x 17.4 x 22.1cm
  • Toaster Type: 2 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Great price for both
  • Clean design

We dislike

  • Positioning of water window

Final Verdict

A nice simple yet impactful design, and they do what they are meant to while not costing the earth

De’Longhi Argento Flora

If you’re after the retro 50’s look, then this is the perfect matching set.

Available in blue, green, rose or beige (the best retro pastel colours around), you have the full flexibility to match the set to everything from your other pots and pans, to your tea towels or even the paint/wallpaper.

There are also a few other small kitchen items available to match, from kitchen roll holders to electricals such as hand mixers and microwaves. And the chrome details on everything add a bit of a modern, bright twist.

It isn’t just all about the looks, though. It is one of the best sets for safety features, with the kettle having an auto shut-off feature when the water begins to boil as well as thermal cut-off. Auto shut-off when the body is lifted from the base and twin neon power-on lights will prevent accidents.

Both the water boiling and toaster browning are performed to a high quality. There’s wide slots on the toaster, with a dedicated variable width function. This will ensure the temperature is toned down a little bit for those thicker breads and bakery items.

The kettle does the job in a good time as well, even if it is a bit noisy getting there. But on a more positive note, it pours well without any drips.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Toaster 32.4 x 30.2 x 25.4cm, Kettle 27.8 x 23.2 x 21.6cm
  • Toaster Type: 4 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Dome

We like

  • Great colours
  • Design of dials is different - really adds to look

We dislike

  • Toaster and kettle both get hot to touch in use

Final Verdict

A lovely retro look which still gives you the perfect balance of modernity and reliable functions

Bosch COMBO-3474 Country

A rather basic looking toaster and kettle, but the colour is very bright and bold – ideal if you want a pop of brightness.

The fact that it is simple isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes all you want is an appliance which does the job, without any fancy dials to adjust or switches to move.

The toaster has one simple dial which changes the level of brownness, and a light to let you know it is on. There’s no extra functions such as defrosting or pop and peek, but for those who simply use an ordinary loaf of bread, these won’t be needed anyway.

However, one function which may appeal is the bun tray which can be lifted above the slots. This will allow you to put the toaster on as normal but warm breads or bakery items without toasting them. It is also great for keeping toasted items warm.

The kettle has a removable filter which can be washed when needed, and it is nice and easy to lift the hinged lid with the press of the lever on the handle. Said lid locks when the kettle is boiling, so it can’t accidentally pop open. It is lightweight and cordless, with a swivel base for perfect positioning and safe lifting.

We would say it is best for anyone who either adored the mint green colour, or who wants something simple and fuss-free. There is nothing fancy about it, but when you’re just after a cup of coffee and some toast in the mornings, fanciness is not on the agenda.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: Toaster 34 x 21 x 22cm, Kettle 16 x 31 x 19cm
  • Toaster Type: 2 Slice
  • Kettle Type: Jug

We like

  • Nice price for both
  • Simple yet effective

We dislike

  • Best for standard bread - items such as bagels or crumpets may not be toasted to your desire

Final Verdict

Basic functionality and design, but bold colour. Perfect for anyone who wants either option

Help and Resources

Toaster & Kettle Bundle Buying Guide

Toaster Slots

The width of the toaster slot you need all depends on the type of confectionary you will be toasting.

Wider slots will happily accommodate thicker breads, such as home sliced loaves or items such as crumpets, bagels and muffins. If you will be using these, also look for a dedicated setting which can be used too. This will reduce the heat while still giving good toasting results, to ensure no edges or thicker settings are burnt while the rest is untouched.

Some toasters can struggle with taller bread types, too. Ones such as Warburton’s larger loaves can be the most difficult, and often need turning around mid-cycle. But there are a few out there which will cover most of the bread with no fuss.

Toaster Reheating

If you often get frustrated because you forget about your toast in the mornings, or are so distracted that you come back to it cold so the butter doesn’t melt, a reheat function is ideal.

They are common nowadays, and will warm the toast without cooking it further. Perfect for melting butter.

Colours

With sets and bundles, the colours available can be a bit restrictive.

You may find that we have linked to a cream coloured set, but there is a grey or black option out there to buy separately. Research the set and check there’s no other colours you’d prefer.

But the positive about sets and bundles is that you know for sure both items will match perfectly, both in colour and style.

Price

Another good reason to buy a bundle is that it is usually cheaper than purchasing both items separately. Bundles will be available at a range of costs, starting at around £50 (£25 for each item roughly), and can reach just over £100 (which is usually still good value).

Still, it is worth double-checking the two items are not available separately for cheaper – check they aren’t on offer or in a sale.
